Options for making contributions to NHUMC

 

Option #1:  Regular Offering Envelope Pack

 

Each regular offering envelope pack includes every Sunday of the year, as well as envelopes for Special Day giving.  Each pledging couple or individual receives an offering envelope pack with an assigned offering number for accounting purposes, even if you use some other method of giving. 

 

There are 3 options listed on each offering envelope:

 

  • Operating Budget – Regular offering toward operating expenses of the church.

 

  • Capital Campaign – Paying toward the mortgage, as well as helping to pay down the principal.

 

  • Other (specify) – You may designate an amount to any other area of the church.  Please specify your amount and designation clearly on the offering envelope. 

 

Please use dollar amounts only when designating your contributions on the offering envelopes. 

Do not mark envelopes with percentages or Xs; this doesn’t help the counters, as they do not have access to your commitment amounts.

 

If you have a concern that others will know what you are giving, let me assure you that the second counter is the one that opens and records the amounts on the envelopes, and at this point all is sealed and given to the financial secretary for recording.  No one else ever has access to this information.

 

 

 

Option #2:  ACH

 

With this option you may set up your giving by indicating what you’d like deducted from your checking or savings account to be applied to the Operating Budget, the Capital Campaign, as well as the 3 special day offerings during the year. 

 

As of January of 2009, the 6th and 20th will be the two options to choose from for automatic deduction.  If the 6th or 20th fall on a Saturday, Sunday or a federal holiday, the deduction will be made on the first business day following the exact date.

 

This option is the best, easiest and most cost efficient way for the church to handle your giving.

 

 

Option #3:  Online Giving

 

This option may be accessed at the church website.  There is a link to an online giving form on the home page.  Here you may use debit cards, credit cards, or you may use checking and savings accounts.

           

There is a charge to the church for this service, but if giving in this way is for you, go for it!

 

You may designate a contribution to any church project, or you may donate toward someone else’s participation in a given event (i.e. mission trips such as Sierra Leone and Belize, etc.). Youth is another area that you may use to give toward a particular project, or to specify a child that you want to help in achieving their goals.

 

 

 

 

Option #4:  Stock Donations

With everything going through electronically, there is no information as to who it is from or what it is for, also there are other account numbers needed.

 

 

If your concern is that people will see what your contributions are then option 2 – 3 – 4 are all electronic and only the financial secretary will ever see them.
